Vintage 2015

Vintage 2015

At the end of a very mild growing season and lower than average rainfall, for us in the Relbia region it all pointed to an early start for our 2015 harvest. We picked our first sparkling grapes on 3 March and it was a mad two weeks. But then it halted due to rain and a drop in temperature; this lasted for about two weeks.

After this initial lag, it was all on for the remainder of our sparkling fruit and the start of our Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir (still wine) picks, around the start of April.

This has been a vintage with a few challenges, but looking at the wines in tank and barrel, we expect to see some great wines come out of it with a huge amount of depth, structure and flavour. The wines are all showing good varietal characters, too.

So all in all, we are very happy with the wines and are feeling quite positive about this season, so be on the lookout for the 2015 Relbia Estate wines when released later in the year.
